We recently purchased the BigPrism Dynamic Timer script, and are having trouble getting it to work. We need someone to configure the forms, we can install it on our website using the included embed code. We just need someone to change the files so they do what we want them to do and send them back. It is a very small job, we just don't know cgi AT ALL! Escrow will be released upon confirmation that files are functional on our website. We want the timer to say that there is a limited time discount where they can purchase at $29.99 and count down an hour and 39 minutes in the form of 01:39:58. Upon completion of countdown, we need it to say that the time is up but if they purchase now they can still get it for $34.99 These are the instructions that come with the timer, so if you understand this and can get the job done quickly, please bid! We have the following files: * [login to view URL] -------- main script * [login to view URL] --- configuration script * [login to view URL] ---- timer template * [login to view URL] -- template to display after time is gone * [login to view URL] ---------------- ip log file * [login to view URL] ------------ the file you are reading now _______________________________________________________________________________ 1. Define Variables == Using a plain text editor like textpad, or notepad, open the [login to view URL] script and set desired timeout and resetting delay. Save your changes. NOTE: If your hosting provider uses perl header other than standard #!/usr/bin/perl then you need to change it in the very first line of [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] files. _______________________________________________________________________________ 2. Edit "tmpl-dtimeisok.bpc" And "tmpl-dtimeisover.bpc" Files == These are the files with HTML templates that will be displayed when timer it counting down ([login to view URL]) and after the time is over ([login to view URL]). There are four merge words that can be used in the html template [login to view URL] for displaying how much time left: %DAYS% will print 1-3 digits of days left (depending on amount of days) %HOURS% will print 2 digits of hours left %MINS% will print 2 digits of minutes left %SECS% will print 2 digits of seconds left In other words, if you want to display time like this: 0 days and 00:00:00 left you should write this in your code like: %DAYS% days and %HOURS%:%MINS%:%SECS% left There is no need to use any merge words in the [login to view URL] file as there is no time to count down. It is just standard static HTML. _______________________________________________________________________________ 3. Upload Files == Upload the following files to the /cgi-bin/ directory of your hosting account. I suggest you to create a new subdirectory in your /cgi-bin/, like [login to view URL] and then upload following files to it: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] WARNING! ALL files must be uploaded in ASCII mode. If you upload as binary, script WILL NOT work. _______________________________________________________________________________ 4. Set File Permissions (CHMOD) == Set the permissions for the [login to view URL] file to '755' Set the permissions for the [login to view URL] file to '755' Set the permissions for the [login to view URL] file to '644' Set the permissions for the [login to view URL] file to '644' Set the permissions for the [login to view URL] file to '644' (In rare cases the last file should be CHMOD 666.) _______________________________________________________________________________ 5. Add Script Code To Your Site == Now you can add the script tag to your site where you want timer to be displayed. <script src="[login to view URL]; type="text/javascript"></script> Please note, that "uniqueword" at the end of the script address should be any sequence of latin letters or digits like "jkhghg" or "jk6fj". It should be unique in every script tag. This will prevent from reading values from browser cache.

Hi, I have 10 years of web development experience. I recently set up a Perl script to check and retrieve mail from an IMAP enabled email account. Much JavaScript and AJAX experience. I can have the timer display any HTML and images you need upon completion.
