Control of HIWIN XYZ axes

Project Title: Control of HIWIN XYZ axes Summary: We are developing a device for laboratory use, which has several electromechanical parts. This project is about completing the control of XYZ linear axes via computer. The required motion of the linear axis is simple: Just set the speed and acceleration, and define the target position, independently for each axis (no interpolation is required) The software normally controls the motors each second (max 10Hz) Low motion speeds (max 10cm/s) Basic list of commands: homing, set speed, set acceleration, set position, get position, get failure/error Skills and Experience Required: Due to the strict deadline, we will consider only freelancers: with previous experience with HIWIN motors and axes. that already has a pre-existing solution requiring small modifications/adaptations. Knowledge of industrial automation requirements and standards. Technical specifications: Fixed components (cannot be changed): Windows 10 PC running our proprietary software (coded in Python) Linear X-axis: HM060S010N0180S000ANNAHW19, with 2 limit switch sensors NC Linear Y-axis: HM040S010C0140S000ANNAHW22, with 2 limit switch sensors NC Linear Z-axis: HM040S010N0145S000ANNBHW22, with 2 limit switch sensors NC 2 HIWIN Motors (model: EM1-C-M-10-2-0-F-0-A) with relative encoder for X-Y axes 1 HIWIN Motor (model: EM1-C-M-10-2-B-F-0-A) with relative encoder for Z axis Expected solution: Identification of drivers for the motors (preferably HIWIN drivers) Identification of a mean of communication with the PC (via USB or ethernet) If required, identification of an additional component (such as a PLC) for the control of the drivers. NB: The solution should consider the presence of an emergency button to switch off the power to the motors. The drivers and the motors are distant (about 50cm/1m) If possible, we are interested in limiting the torque of the motors (for safety reasons, to avoid breaking fingers :-) ). Appendices: Datasheets of the motors and the XYZ axes System diagram and Example of a proposed solution Example of Project Proposal (things to discuss before assigning the project): 1- Example of previous experience with very similar projects 2- Generic solution (which driver model, and how to communicate to the drivers) 3- An idea about the cost of materials (for PLCs, libraries, licenses, hardware to upload the firmware, etc.) 4- Time to delivery The simplest solution will be chosen Tasks to be Completed: Identify the driver models (for example ED1F-EN-0422-A1-00) If using a PLC, identify the PLC brand and model Identify eventual firmware libraries and respective licenses Develop firmware for the PLC, for controlling the HIWIN XYZ axes Support on how to upload the firmware on the PLC Ensure proper connectivity and communication between the control system and the axes NB: We can work on the Python code. Final milestone: The project is considered completed after we have successfully tested the complete solution.
