Email to Database Software in C#, Visual Studio

Hello, My name is Roman Dubyk. I'm C/C++/C# programmer with huge experience. Projects which I successfuly done in the past allows me to reuse received experience during working on your project. I have read your document with application description. It is good detailed, but I found several points which are not clear. For instance, #1 There is not defined place (in smartMainAdmin database) for storing path to location where attachments need to be stored. Probably you will want to have separate path per client database (DB#). Also, it will be good to specify the structure of folders how to store these attachments. Sure, folders structure should depend on the way how you would like to use these attachments in the future. In other words, in general, will be good to know system purpose and how you plan to extend it. #2 It is not clear how you plan enter data into smartMainAdmin database about client databases, credentials, etc. (content of ClientDatabases table). Suppose, smartMail Admin GUI should be extended with abbility to enter these data. #3 It is not clear how you plan to enter data into client databases (Accounts table). Probably client databases already exist? If not, then should be designed separate interface in smartMail Admin GUI or developed separate tools. As soon as it is my first job on Freelancer (I hope :)) I'm ready to do this work for you for low budget but a lot of answers need to be answered to detail the project. Hope to work with you, Roman

Hi, I just gone through the whole requirement. Well fetching emails using IMAP, POP3 or Exchange wont be any problem. Also storing then into database piece of cake. Regarding actual retrivals of emails, is that going to happen on scheduled basis? I know Exchange can do push, but didn't code that one yet, and thinking about handling all of them in single code base. Will you be running scripts to create different client DB yourself or you want admin panel to take care of that? Can you specify me what you mean by storing keys (encrypted) in 3 different places? I have processed emails in another project before. That time, I checked through email accounts and searched the email for a reference. If the reference was found, the email was converted to a PDF and stored. The attachments were also converted to a PDF and stored. The application was a windows service coded in C# and using SQL Server 2012 as the database. Using the code base I have, I would add support for Exchange Server protocol as well the multi-threaded processing for each client.

Your required service will read email and save it into database and attachment on file system(directory). I am developer from India with more than a decade of experience in building web based application using Microsoft technologies. I have worked in multinational software companies, where my responsibilities where architecting and designing software solutions. Couple of questions/suggestions based on the requirement spec -Account processing is in a single thread – does this slow down the process? Because these I/O operations can be parallelized -Web based UI – To solve this I would be hosting an ASP.Net MVC based application on the windows service. Do you have any other suggestions? -One drawback I see with client per thread approach is the efficient use of multi core server (I assumes this service is going to be hosted on the server class machine). If there is only 3 clients, service will use only 3 thread even though lot computational power will still unused. Microsoft has framework called TPL data flow which can be used here to efficiently to this processing. Looking forward to discuss more with you and I am sure that I will exceed your expectations. Hi, I am Laszlo Benke, form Hungary. I am C# developer. I made similar program that you need. That one sends automatically mail when something happend (e.g.: reach the limit). It uses IMAP and POP3. I have not dealing with EWS, but I think there will be not too complicated (.NET contains built-in certificate-maker and ExchangeService module). What mini-task do you need to prove my ability for this project? My recommandation: a simple gmail account connected via C# program and it sends the invoiced mail to sql database.
