Project Management Assignment DEADLINE 24 hours - 36 hours You are a new Project Manager at Sharjah Higher University of Technology. SHUT is a public University that has grown from 3,000 full time students to 5,000 full time students over the last decade. Its traditional mission has been its teaching focus, but with its recent growth, a number of new faculty have an interest in and ability to do research that is competitive at the national level. Government funding in support of SHUT has decreased from 20% of the operating budget to 10% of the budget as the budget has increased over the last decade. The funding was cut slightly but the university’s budget almost doubled. IT has not been well funded, and like most other areas of the university, it is understaffed, with only 10 FTE staff serving all academic, administrative, telecom, networking, and media services roles. Your Director (Dr Sarid) has asked you to put IT on the map at this institution. Dr Sarid wants to see a total wireless campus, reengineered information systems for the campus offices, updated classroom technology with state of the art apple iMac computers through a life cycle replacement for all workstations, servers and each students to be issued with a iPad with the ability to undertake all academic requirements. He has sent you an email asking you to replace all of the computers in classroom XXXX. This replacement project will be part of a larger lifecycle replacement program for all computer workstations in the college. Dr Sarid has given you a budget of 250,000AED. The project must include replacement of all computers in classroom [See list below], the computers must have the equivalent software installed and work with the existing multi-functional devices which print and scan documents. The computers must be installed by 30th June 2013 as training will take place on the 1st July 2013. The training of the new equipment is not included in the scope of the project.
