Fix WordPress theme

I'm currently trying to deliver a new site for my client and (unfortunately) decided to use an off the shelf WordPress theme called Eco Recycling that I bought via themeforest: [login to view URL] I initially liked the overall layout and style and thought the changes I wanted to make would be straightforward, but they're not (for me). The first thing I found after buying the theme is that it uses its own 'page builder' which I find very awkward & slow to use. I've managed to understand it, but I don't find it at all intuitive. I prefer things to be MUCH simpler and would therefore like a straightforward WordPress Child theme created, that will allow me (& ultimately my client) to manage the content via WordPress's native admin tools. My client is happy with what I've show him so far, but there is no way on earth that HE will be able to use the page builder or revslider, as I've only just persuaded him to use WordPress and the whole point of this endeavour is so that my client can update his own content by himself in the future. He's fine with the layout and style of the home page (but we'll be slightly updating the content soon) and want the same images and associated effects (like parallax scrolling on the top image) to remain. Since the site is not expected to be that complex, the other pages will use the same layout for each page i.e. same header that resizes down to the smaller menu when scrolled down, centred articles / content (posts and pages) to be placed over a fixed background image that covers the viewport and the content scrolls over the top of. I also want the content to be placed within its own rounded corner box. I understand that some plugins may be required, but I want these brought down to a minimum and IF any are used must be explained why. I would much rather the new child theme having built in capabilities than having loads of extra plugins. Having said that, I understand that revslider is probably required for the current home page. However, to explicitly clarify: I do not want to use any type of page builder! I've also seen that the current theme loads a lot of files (especially js) upon viewing a page - again, I want these minimised, to improve page loading and overall performance. Very importantly, I also want the overall site to be responsive, so that it will display correctly on any device screen size/orientation. FYI - the current problem that I'm working on (that has also led me to get help on freelancer.com) is setting the background image for the news page and getting the layout/spacing right for the articles contained within that page. I'm hoping to provide a similar style to single content pages (i.e. content within grey box over fixed background cover image). If you feel you could help me with this, please get back to me and let me know when you could start and how long it would take to complete - BOTH with specific dates please.
