We have two links to files on our website that have a default favicon appear (from the Abound theme) rather than the favicon that we display on the rest of the site. We need to change the default favicon so that the following pages display the same favicon as the rest of the site: [login to view URL] [login to view URL]

your given page is pdf opener probably acrobat, which does not use site favicon therefore it is not possible to have it in separate page, but if you embed pdf into your page, or use iframe then you ca show favcon on your page but for separate it is not possible as pdf reader is not part of website
