Our customer posts 2 large reports (output for an MRP), as big txt files, for us to download and read for changes to their orders. The last summary report was 8 pages, and the detail report was about 90. Who has the time to wade through all that? What if I miss something? Importing to Excel puts all the text from each line in one cell; blank lines; page headers, no consistancy in the placement...
In the summary report, the data I need appears in 2 main lines.
I am wishing for a stand alone program (?) that takes the text file, converts it to either Excel (insert sheet in existing workbook)or an Access table (append to table), so I can read, calculate, and manipulate it easier. Column names, date at top, data below and space to add probably 3 columns.
Format is consistant, but length of file changes.
