Create a VB Control that mimics IE Favorites based on the following sample:
<[login to view URL]>
also check out this one if necessary, but it's out-dated:
<[login to view URL]>
Does not need to support folder or adding. Just support moving items up or down and deleting. A flat list of Favorites would be sufficient. Should allow user to re-arrange the order of the favorites by dragging them up or down.
## Deliverables
Classes
=======
clsItem
-------
2 properties:
ItemText As String ' to be displayed in the favorite control
Tag As Variant ' used to store any extra data needed for the program, like the Tag properties
FavoriteItems
-------------
Collection of clsItem
clsFavoriteControl
------------------
2 methods:
Public Sub SetItems(items As FavoriteItems)
Public Function GetItems() As FavoriteItems
Usage
=====
1) the program creates a FavoriteItems which is a collection of clsItem
2) the FavoriteItems is passed to the clsFavoriteControl via SetItems
3) the user of the program manipulates the Favorite List (moving items around, deleting them but NO adding)
4) the program calls GetItems to get the current FavoriteItems collection. the order of clsItem in the collection should reflect the position of the corresponding item in the Favorite list control.
Example
=======
Dim x As New clsItem
Dim y As New clsItem
Dim coll As New FavoriteItems
[login to view URL] "hello", 123
[login to view URL] "world", 888
Dim ctl As New FavoriteControl
[login to view URL] coll
< user drags "world" from second row to top row >
Dim coll2 As FavoriteItems
Set coll2 = [login to view URL]
[login to view URL] coll2(1).ItemText = "world" And coll2(1).Tag = 888
[login to view URL] coll2(2).ItemText = "hello" And coll2(1).Tag = 123
