This can be done using smtp protocol and Google have provided some api to do this. I have also developed similar kind of threaded application and have tested with 5000 emails continuesly. Email messages and email ids can be inserted to data base and system automatically picks those data and send mails through smtp. Smtp configurations details can also be stored in database.
