I want a program that will listen UDP on port 7777 and give some answer.

This is the first time am bidding for any project. I have spent almost 11 years in software industry working mostly on C / C++ code. As of now i can commit 10 hours per week. Am doing freelancing in my free time to generate some money. So if you under some time constraint or urgent need then i may not be that use-full. I have worked on protocol severs( like UDP / HTTP ) before. My understanding is you need a handler code which will be invoked for "specific message" sent by gaming client. This specific handler code will be part of game server running on port 7777. So as you understand am preferring solution to go with option 1 ( that you have suggested ). This also means you may need to share the source code of gaming server or may be some secure system with VPN access. My understanding is that if am selected to work on this, I shall do following 1. Understand your existing code so that i can add new code. 2. Do the code changes following your coding style/pattern. 3. test with the test-plan discussed with you. 4. You must have static/dynamic analysis tool like valgrind to check memory leaks/corruption. Above points are minimal but just to give an idea. I think all this should not take more than 20 hours, but your server code may be complex. Also i don't know if i understand your requirement fully. So if you decide to give this project to me then we need to discuss and decide about milestones. Let me know if you need more information. regards Deepak
