I teach people online and need my own open source based environment on my own machine. We are running Ubuntu 8.04x. I think what I am asking is pretty straightforward since it is well documented.
I want the latest stable version of Moodle and the current open source version of Dimdim installed on my server, plus I want the Moodle-Dimdim integration module installed so that the dimdim rooms can be launched from a moodle room. The server is running Ubuntu. We will be using an openldap for authentication and drupal for other functions.
Some of the questions people asked last time we posted this showed that they had never looked at how easy it is to install this so I am including the links to the install for the integration module. Please look at [login to view URL] for the open source install guidelines. Please look at [login to view URL] for the moodle docs and code. The guideline to install the integration module is at : [login to view URL]
The deliverables are:
- to install and configure the software packages and provide appropriate documentation to allow us to add users and maintain the system. You will be given the necessary access and an account with the necessary privileges to the server.
- to create 6 users (admin1) (secadmin1) (instructor1) and (student1) and (instructor2) and (student2) with appropriate permissions and access to both moodle and dimdim
- to create anexample moodle class with access by both the instructor1 and the student1 users
- to create a link in the example moodle class that launches a dimdim room with access by the instructor and student with instructor1 as host and the student1 user as a participant. We need to know how to create new dimdim rooms and authorize instructors and students to participate.
- to create another example moodle class with access by instructor2 an
student2
-each moodle class should have an example text file (can be filled with random text- even hello world!) , a jpeg (anything not offensive) , and a short mp3 file of any kind with access limited to only authorized students.
We will want a demo and the code and the docs before we make final acceptance. If you have examples of moodle work and dimdim integration we would like to see them.
aloha for your help
