Hello i am using firecheckout for magento and my vat checker for the eu is not working properly. 1) Fix the vat checker from firecheckout first. 2) there is already a dropdown with two options "customer" and companys" if client select the combination company and the country belgium then only the vat checker must he visible 2) If a customer from belgium fill in the right vat number, the must be getting 0% vat. you can set this in the new vat rules of magento in system > configuration > customer configuration
