Online Restaurant menus

The site will have many restaurants, whose menus will be available online. The customers will have full access to restaurants menu, and restaurants will pay to register and/or announce on site as defined by site admin. The customer will browse or search for restaurants on our site, and browse through their menus. He will select products that will be summed with tax delivery and the total order value will be displayed like a meal quote (like a float shopping cart, but without the“buy?? button). When the customer finishes selecting products he will call the restaurant directly by phone, and make his order directly to restaurant. At the first phase of the project, our site won’t have online ordering. The delivery will be from restaurant’s responsibility. Our site will just show the menus and sum the items and tax delivery that customer wants to buy (like a float shopping cart,but without button “buy??, instead it will show “When you finish your selection,call number XXX-XXXX and make your order??). At future phases, our site will have order online, but not for now. ? The layout will be very similar to just-eat.co.uk. ## Deliverables Food Delivery Site Short description The site will have many restaurants, whose menus will be available online. Our site will have search options to help customers find restaurants, filtered by city of operation, cuisine type, etc. We will have login management to customers, restaurants and site administrators. Restaurants will register their info, including menu and phone number. Visitors are those that access the site for the first time. To view full menus, they will need to register. Our site will have reports and statistics like number of menu views ordered by user; menu views by restaurant, and from which users; how many times the products were added to the “shopping cart??, ordered by product, etc At the first phase of the project, our site won’t have online ordering. Site Portals The site will have different interfaces for visitor (non registered users), customers, restaurants and admins. Layout L1: Home Page will have a contemporary but fun design with informational pages about the service. L2: There will be an advertisement banner on side box for advertisement in right side. Advertisements will appear by rotation and views / clicks will be tracked. L3: There will be a section on home page for featured restaurants on lower right handside of the home page and inner pages. Featured Restaurants will appear by rotation and views / clicks will be tracked. L4: There will be an area on home page where the site visitor can search for restaurants by criteria like cuisine or pickup only / delivery support and / or drop down menu to narrow search by city, cuisine, restaurant etc. Search results will display on next page as a paginated list of restaurants which can be clicked to view profile or menu card L5: Below search Box, there will be menu buttons, like “Restaurants??, “Feedback??, “Help??, etc Site interface The site will have different functionality based on types of users. There will be Visitors, Customers, Restaurants and Admins. Each type of user will have a different “portal?? explained below. Visitors Portal VP1: Here the customers need not be registered with us. He can browse and have partial access to menus and information about restaurants. To access full menus and info about restaurants he needs to register with us. The register form will be simple without e-mail verification and with captcha security. User name will be e-mail address. This is basically where he can browse through and get a feel of our website and restaurant menu details without the need to log in. Customers Portal CP1 Registered Customers can login, logout, change password and recover lost password CP2 Registered Customers can update their general profile including contact details CP3 Registered Customers will automatically receive (once logged in) a maintained list of favorite restaurants and select a restaurant anytime to initiate an online meal quote. CP4 Registered Customers will automatically receive (once logged in) a maintained a list of favorite meal quotes and can repeat any of these quotes. CP5 Registered customers can select any restaurant and start a quote to view the menu card with sections, categories and items (with optional add-ons). Items with add-ons can be added to order tray and quantities can be edited. CP6 Registered customers, once finished their meal quotes, will call directly to restaurant to make an order. CP7 Registered customers can view their quotes history and quotes details. CP8 Customers can leave feedback and give a rating to restaurants. Average rating as well as the list of review comments is visible in restaurant profile. Restaurants can request site administrator to remove any objectionable comments. CP9 Limited flash animation will be provided on home page to make the site more appealing. CP10 Submit feedback about site service Restaurant Portal Restaurant Portal is the back office login for a restaurant which will also be accessible through a shadow login facility to the site admin staff. In this area, the restaurant can manage its profile as well menu card. The capabilities offered by this section to member restaurants are listed below: RP1 Authentication including login, logout, recover lost password and change password RP2 Restaurants can request for participation in banner advertising by choosing one of the available plans and pay using credit card. They can track views and hits on their advertisements. RP3 Restaurants can request for participation in featured restaurant listing and pay using credit card. They can track views and hits on their home page featured listings. RP4 Restaurants can manage their public profile and the menu card with add-on options. There will be settings like hours of operation, pickup option, delivery option and cities of operation, logo changing. RP5 Restaurants can update their general profile including contact details and list of credit cards. RP6 Restaurants can view summary statistics of activity related to their restaurant. (Like quotes log, subscription fee, etc.) RP8 Restaurants can view their payment records and make any payments due to our site for advertisement plans or when simple registration becomes a pay service. RP9 Restaurants can view their quotes history and quotes details. RP10 Restaurants can view their average rating as well as the list of review comments given by customers and which is visible in restaurant profile. Restaurants can request our site administrator to remove any objectionable comments. Admin Portal Admin Panel is the control panel for the super user. Meal quotes activity and site statistics can be viewed in admin panel. The list of features in the admin control panel is listed below: AP1 Authentication including login, logout and change password AP2 Manage the news and highlights published on the home page AP3 Manage featured listings published on home page AP4 Manage advertising in side box on home page and inner pages (if required). AP5 View a summary dashboard about the overall activity on the site AP6 View detailed site statistics about events on the site AP7 Create new restaurants and manage restaurants through shadow login facility AP8 Manage customers through shadow login facility AP9 Manage the rates for advertising and joining fees paid upfront AP10 SSL security and encryption of credit card details while storing in database table is essential. PCI compliance and shielding against SQL injection vulnerability is required. AP11 Automatic generation and submission of URL List and SITEMAP XML to Google and Yahoo search engines AP12 Integration with Google Analytics to understand sources of site visitors AP13 Automatically generated trend reports for analyzing internal site statistics: • Restaurants and items which can be sorted by value and date range. • Report with details analysis of repeat customers, showing meal quotes made to which restaurants and by whom; page views by restaurant and from which user, etc. • List of all deleted restaurants or temporary offline restaurant. • List of all merchandise purchased by the restaurant AP14 View feedback submitted by customers about our site service. There will be an option to reply such feedback and / or publish on home page.
