[login to view URL] is an online tabloid about "internet celebrities" and popular users of social networking sites like Myspace and Stickam. One feature of [login to view URL] is our "StickyCam," which is a Flash application. It allows our readers to take snapshots of their webcams; the most recent snapshot is saved as "snap.jpg" and displayed inside StickyCam widget. All previous snapshots are aaved on our Gallery page. The StickyCam application (and all files involved in its functionality) are located inside the public_html/stickycam folder. For some reason the StickyCam stopped saving new snapshots. This project is to restore the StickyCam's functionality. No other changes or updates are needed. We have several full cPanel backups of our server, generated when the StickyCam was functioning. Simply uploading the stickycam folder does not restore functionality (we already tried that). Permissions and ownership seem to be correct as well, but the StickyCam still won't work. Below are some details from our host that might be useful: Master User - Monday December 1st, 2008; 6:17 AM CST A flash application ([login to view URL]) on the domain [login to view URL] is timing out while trying to send a request back to itself. It tries to send a request to [login to view URL] and times out while trying to execute the request. Does anything appear to be set on the server that might block this connection from going through, either firewall or something in the httpd configuration. David L. - Monday December 1st, 2008; 7:59 AM CST Dear Customer, I've verified that there is nothing preventing the accessing of that URL from your server. root@server1 [~]# telnet [login to view URL] 80 Trying 174.133.41.146... Connected to [login to view URL] ([login to view URL]). Escape character is '^]'. ^] telnet> quit Connection closed. root@server1 [~]# wget [login to view URL] --2008-12-01 07:37:16-- [login to view URL] Resolving stickydrama.com... [login to view URL] Connecting to [login to view URL]|[login to view URL]|:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK Length: 0 [image/png] Saving to: `[login to view URL]' [ <=> ] 0 --.-K/s in 0s 2008-12-01 07:37:16 (0.00 B/s) - `[login to view URL]' saved [0/0] root@server1 [~]# However, I did find that curl(commandline tool) was unable to download and display the file. root@server1 [~]# curl [login to view URL] root@server1 [~]# Yet, curl works find for main site. root@server1 [~]# curl [login to view URL] | tail % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed 100 71149 0 71149 0 0 254k 0 --:--:-- --:--:-- --:--:-- 641k google_ad_type = "text_image"; google_ad_channel = ""; //--></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"> </script></p> </td></tr> </table> </body> </html>root@server1 [~]# I took a closer look at the [login to view URL] file that was "downloaded" with wget from locally on the server. root@server1 [~]# cat [login to view URL] root@server1 [~]# The wget downloaded version is empty, while I've verified that the hosted [login to view URL] is a fully valid script. However, I've verified that the problem is not a connection being blocked. Though I would recommend checking your suhosin, and suexec configuration for Apache/PHP to ensure they are compatible with your needs. Please let us know if we may be of further assistance, and thank you for choosing the Planet!
