I have Macromedia flash animation. The animation loads an mp3 of the speech that it is supposed to play. While the mp3 is playing I would like to direct the animations's mouth movements to the corresponding speech frame in the timeline, making the animation appear to be talking. So, to do this, I need to know the phoneme that is being played at that specific moment. The flash swf runs from my website and the speech mp3 is loaded from another server. I need the above-described process to happen in near-realtime.
I imagine the system to work like this. The flash will identify the mp3 to be played. The phoneme identifier script will analyze the mp3 and quickly create an xml file with all the phonemes and the times that they occur. Then the animation will load the mp3 and xml together. then my actionscript will know when to go to what frame.
Simple no? :-)
