tux httpd module

I'm looking for a well skilled C programmer for the development of an improved version of our Tux httpd module. Tux httpd is part the *content accelerator suite* from RedHat. It provides an API for programmers to develop their own user modules. The module performs some local caching tasks. When a file '[login to view URL]' is requested, it looks on its local filesystem to see if the file is present. If so, the file is served from the local filesystem. If the file is not present, the module will proxy the request (the API provides functions for this) to an Apache webserver on the local network. The module caches the requested file on its local filesystem for future requests. There are a few important requirements: - when caching the file on disk the module must maintain the original filetime from the fileserver. - there must be a clean filelocking mechanism; it may occur that multiple users access the same file at nearly the same moment. Suggestions for further improvements are also very welcome. We have developed a similar module in the past. This one did not used a proxied request, but an NFS mount instead to copy the file from the remote filesystem. It has some locking issues and does not perform as well as we would like. The code of this module will be provided to you when you start this project. We require to finnish this project within two to four weeks from now. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
