Project Overview The primary objective of this project is to facilitate access for individuals and vehicles through automatic detection and validation using Face Recognition (FR) and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technologies. Software Development Features The software to be developed will include the following features: Operating System: The system will be developed on the Ubuntu operating system. Access Control System Assumptions: The system will detect faces or number plates from a database and either accept or reject access based on matches with stored data. Database Capacity: The system will support searching a database containing up to 5000 unique faces and 2000 number plates. Hardware Requirements: The software PoC will be installed on a PC with the following specifications: Processor: Intel Core i7 RAM: 16GB Storage: 512GB SSD Later on we need to develop a cost effective hardware to manage this. Camera Integration: 4 to 6 IP cameras will be connected to the PC for image and video capture. Recognition Result Handling: Recognition results will be displayed as a popup for real-time feedback. Results will also be stored in a file for consumption by another system or process. Face Recognition: Utilize the Retinaface algorithm for face detection. Implement the Arcface algorithm for identifying detected faces. Internal storage will be used for housing the algorithm libraries. Number Plate Recognition: Use a pretrained deep learning model of ANPR software for detecting and reading the contents from number plates. User Registration: Face Details: Capture and store tenant information, including name, house number, mobile number, and number of occupants. Vehicle Plate Number Details: Manage vehicle plate numbers, including add, delete, and edit functionality. Dashboard: The dashboard will provide an overview of the following details: Number of vehicles in/out. Incoming and outgoing traffic data. Peak traffic times. Conclusion This comprehensive Access Control System aims to enhance security and efficiency by implementing advanced Face Recognition and Automatic Number Plate Recognition technologies. The system will be feature-rich, supporting user registration for both faces and vehicle plate numbers, and providing insightful dashboard data for effective monitoring and management.
