I want t be able to quickly create what are "statements of work" in my company. We have a standard template which has a title page and some other sections. Also, there is a pricing table at the end of the document. Ideally I think what I want to do is be able to: 1) Pull Excel data from a specific row into the template for some sections automatically - things like customer name, project start date, etc. 2) Automatically populate other sections with verbiage that is a little more extensive. These are things that are usually paragraphs with some bulleted items. If I could have the verbiage in an excel spreadsheet cell and push it to the right sections that would be perfect.. If this is not possible, then I need to know how to use this quick parts and somehow create like a dropdown or something so it is fast. 3) Do some automatic formatting so things are appropriately placed in the right level (1.1.1 vs 2.1 vs "section 2" 3) Create a pricing table that would populate directly form a excel spreadsheet. I am not sure this is all possible, however, my pain is that a request comes in to create a document and I spend too much time messing with formatting, etc. Ideally Excel is key since there are some things that I want to be able to "adjust" in the Excel sheet. Hello Sanjay. One question: Why dont you consider making it completely in Excel? So that, we can have everything in one place. And if you send PDF exports to clients, it will be also capable of doing it. We can also transfer to Word, but as I have done many similar jobs before to keep it in Excel is the best practice. Hello, I can help you with the project. I have done something similar before and the best course of action is the following: I will create a macro that will pull all the info from the excel sheets and adjust where necessary, then a new sheet will be created automatically for formatting. After everything is perfect then that sheet will be exported as a Word document with a fixed formatting (which could be changed from the excel if required) If you are interested please open a chat with me. Hi, Your project sounds very interesting and simple enough and I believe that I'll be able to perform the task perfectly. I can easily populate data from excel into word template using word's merge functions. Formatting may require programming in VBA, but most of the time this can be easily done. Hi, I've done a lot of project like this before. Recently I've done a proof of payment generator that populates part of a pdf document from excel references. If you award the project to me now I can start working on it right away. It is possible that we can replace text in word from excel cells . But as suggested if we can do it all in excel we should do it all in excel. Somet I assure you I can do the job.
