THE LANE OF MY LIFE
As I walk by my lane, thoughts of my past makes me insane,
I remember guys following me,like a swarm of bees.
I remember how my beauty was the talk of the town,
Oh my hair and my beautiful gown.
The night I walked the lane with my hair let down,
Passing by women, who gazed at my beauty,
And the only thing that made the men stay on their feet was gravity.
I was a woman, so beautiful, so elegant , so fragile.
Now those memories haunt me , and I'm like a frightened child.
As I walk by my lane, thoughts of that day makes me insane,
The ball was over, I strolled around with a gift from my lover.
The dance we had , Oh I was so glad .
It was sudden and there was something burning,
I fell on the road with a pain so sore,
My face was burnt , I just don't remember how I bore.
It was all dark for sometime,and then I lost my shine,
Days later I opened my eyes,to see a girl I never knew.
She had no hair, her one eye never opened, she scared me.
Then I realised with a pain, it was me.
Never imagined that a guy who looked so candid,
Would hurt me with a bottle of acid.

The look in the eyes of women, the disgust in the eyes of men,
