"qemu-img convert" allow to convert between different disk image formats. That we need is to add an RAW stdout/stdin export option. It may even be writing to a FIFO, which is also not currently supported because of truncate and lseek. What is that good for? remote backups like 'dd if=/dev/vg/snapshot | ssh remoteserver qemu-img -C qcow2 - [login to view URL]' no need to store the file locally. The work needs to be finished as a patch against the current qemu source code [login to view URL] and the LICENCE must be one compatible with Qemu.

Hi, I have experience in developing c programs. As I am working in a service based company, most of the time I deal with programs written a decade ago that I have to analyze and add features to them. Hence this is not a very different job for me. Also I am a Redhat certified Virtualization administrator too and hence a lot of experience with using qemu as a virtualization software. I will add the required features and will take around 5 business days to complete. As already mentioned I am working in a multi-national company and my work timings for the company are from 12 PM IST to 9 PM IST. I usually do freelancing projects between 10 PM IST to 3 AM IST.
