Record voice-overs in a neutral british accent for speech therapy software

We need text files read aloud by a native British speaker using a neutral (e.g., not overly strong "cockney", etc.)British accent. You will probably need to do some copy and paste editing of the sound files you create. ## Deliverables This will be used in educational speech therapy software used by people in the UK. We need to have a sample of your voice recorded in the environment that you'll be working in. Skills needed: 1. Record hi quality audio without background noise. (A quiet office should be fine). We've found that a quiet PC and a good quality sound card are important. And a fairly good mic (we've actually had good luck with cheapo PC microphones). 2. Ability to do simple audio file editing (copying and pasting). The files must be recorded in the order we provide them. Sometimes during recording you'll find that you need to re-record an item (due to noise in the background, etc.). In that case you'd need to copy and paste your re-recorded sound so it's all in the correct order. You can do that with the free audio editor [login to view URL] 3. Attention to detail and ability to check your work and make sure you're delivering it without errors. (E.g., making sure that all the files you recorded sound OK and are in the right order, etc.) 4. A decent voice (native British speaker). You don't need to be an voice-actor. Just having a pleasant voice with good articulation. SCOPE OF WORK We have about 10 files with a total of about 1600 words in them that need to be read aloud. They need to contain those words in exactly that order (with a .5 second or greater space between them). I'll then parse those out using Goldwave (another audio editor) and turn them into individual files. I anticipate it'll tke about 4 to 6 hours. We also have another similar project which is a little more complicated (you'd have to read sentences at a fixed pace so that the audio will be in sync with the text it'll be displayed with). I anticipate that would be a 3 to 6 hour project. DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS are included in that attached .zip file. Please note I updated them with: 1. Instructions for a couple of the tasks to read the text with appropriate emphasis so that the audio can be combined for a Interactive Voice Response type system ("Put the " "small " "red" "ball" "above the" "circle"). 2. Proofing the text for American idioms that might not make sense in England (calling a biscuit a cookie, etc.)
