I'm looking for somebody to design and configure a LAN to LAN VPN between my home and office . (remote access can be provided) The requirement is to access files on the NAS in the office and some servers in the office from home and to also be able to provide remote assistance (RDP etc) to troubleshoot etc. Also would like to be able to log in via tablet / Iphone etc to provide on the move access to servers and the routers themselves. My preference would be to have the VPN between both sites always active but local routing occurs at each location and uses ADSL connection from the local router. Happy to look at different suggestions if applicable Current infrastructure: Office: Billion7404VGOX (a number of devices - including Mac/Linux machine/NAS etc) - currently has DynDNS set up to cater for dynamic IPs. Home : NetComm NB9WMAXX ( Mac/Windows machines) Both locations have separate ADSL 2+ connections with different ISPs. Am happy to consider buying new hardware if required. Other requirements around routers are VOIP at the home location. Ethernet ports (4) at both locations, WIFI (wireless G/N is okay), ADSL 2+ compatible,

The router to router VPN is also known as Site-to-Site VPN. In order to connect two sites using a secure communication channel we need to configure both end routers using IPSec in always on mode. Since, your home router does not support IPSec VPN my recommendation will be to use a VPN capable device from the same vendor which is installed in your office. However, it's your decision to buy a router with IPsec VPN capability within your budget.
