Create front end modules for web based research platform

I work for a small biotech research company, and we are working with a leading web-based research software provider to create a best in class information and workflow management tool. Requirements and design are just about complete, and over the next few months we will be looking for help with the front end. The software company we're working with is unique in that they have created a robust platform for third party development, rather than build a particular solution (since research processes and workflows at scientific companies can be very different). The Java based system is modular, so picture something like an iGoogle home page, where users are dragging and dropping different gadgets / widgets (called 'elements') into their workspace to interact with the data they need in a particular context. The assignment will be to help us create the front end of our own elements for use in their system, using HTML, CSS and Javascript/JQuery. There will probably be between 20 and 30 in total, and most of them will use standard form features. This is a part time project spanning several months. When bidding, please keep the following in mind: - time commitment of at least 15-20 hours a week, but more if you want, for at least a month - bids should be in the form of hourly rates - please be prepared to show examples of previous work - good communication skills are very important, as parts of the system are complicated - explain why you think a project like this would be fun or interesting - scientific research experience (or software design in that field) a plus Look forward to working together.
