Build a responsive horizontal timeline

I would like a responsive timeline that I can use in some of my websites. I like this one: [login to view URL] (DEMO HERE: [login to view URL]) but unfortunately it is a Wordpress plugin only. I don't really care how the data is stored (it can be in raw html, or through a JSON file or something similar). Also I would LIKE it to be mostly backwards compatible with many browsers, but it's not the end of the world if it's modern browser compatible only. Requirements: - fully responsive - animated with javascript - horizontal - sleek/modern design - scalable to many events on the timeline
