There will be several hundred item types each with multiple attributes such as 'composition', 'weight', 'date', etc. Quantities of items would be received into the database, via a transfer event, and attached to customer accounts. Items could further be transferred between customer accounts, via a transfer event, with all events requiring PDF files to be attached to them (authorization and shipping/receiving records). Daily email reporting of cumulative transfer events along with drill-downs of all transfer events would need to occur.
