I have a requirement for 2 XML file formats: XML METS/MODS file for MetaData and for ALTO XML file for OCR data as output from OmniPage OCR application. I will eventually need a program (or programs) written to convert OmniPage XML output to this ALTO XML format. I have the customers format specifications for this. I will also need a program to take data from Excel Spreadsheet or ASCII text file and convert to the XML METS/MODS format. I also have the customers specification for this. Currently I am bidding for this large OCR conversion project and I am looking to find an expert XML programmer who can help me IF I win the project from my customer. Please send my your RESUME and any experience that you have with the ALTO XML and the XML METS/MODS formats.

XML to XML conversion can be simply achieved by XSL map. I have worked on XSL extensively. Also, mapping from Excel to XML can be done by simple mapping, exact time to finish this looks like 2 to max 4 days. I've put 3 days as an average. Exact time would definitely depend on exact scale of mapping.
