You simply create and execute the workflow which works like a scheduler. there is no task scheduler technically within sharepoint. so, you simply create a loop checker which will have the "Pause" for certain time of duration e.g. for 24 hours. so the workflow will be executed one time only, and it will stay working on your system

Additionally, we have implemented flexibility to define email content as a template in one SharePoint list. Job picks up the template, replaces values and sends an email to assigned to persons.
