Currently working on spark job in java, that reads data from hive, applies transformation on it and places result back in hdfs. I am also a devops person, I installed all the setup of HADOOP, HIVE, SPARK on our production machines, FYI that spark job handles approx 6 millions records in batch, and HIVE is partitioned on arrival time so new records every time .I am aware of power of spark against hadoop map reducer, spark is almost 10x faster.
