The following proposal is for the posted job entitled "Proofread, edit and help publish ebook to sites", job # 2479290 on the Freelancer website. I appreciate the opportunity to bid on your work, and the outline of my proposal is what follows.
The project you have submitted requires copy-editing an ebook and preparing it for final production. Moreover there are components to helping advertise the book by creating a description. My approach would be to collaborate with the author, read the book, then edit a few pages for approval. Once approved, I would continue and finish the editing process while concurrently working on the book description for marketing purposes.
As you can see in detail from my profile, I am academically trained in English and Education. My skills in these areas were honed in graduate school, my 5 years of teaching various high school English courses, as well as teaching several college courses. I also have extensive experience in marketing and sales. All these skills would be useful as leverage in the construction of your project. My two years as a freelancer has a 100% delivery rate on or before the established guidelines. I have references available to corroborate that history. I have included samples in my profile of the wide variety of Higher Education projects I have worked on, including exams, quizzes, editing, proofreading and Power Point construction. I am well versed in creating materials from scratch that serve major textbook publications, including those published by Pearson, Longman, McGraw-Hill, Wadsworth, and South-Western College Publishers.
My standard per hour rate is $30 for freelance work. Given the parameters of your project, I estimate it to take approximately 8 - 9 hours to complete properly. Those hours times my hourly rate is the calculation I used to derive my bid. It includes the first draft, revisions, and any editorial changes that may come about while the project is underway. As any good business person, I am willing to be negotiable with my bid price should there be less work than anticipated. I would also ask the same reciprocity, should your requirements exceed the number of hours I anticipated to complete.
As always, I am excited to embrace new opportunities as a freelancer. This is more than extra work for me, it is a passion. To be able to contribute to so many different projects and work with numerous people and publishers is truly a blessing. I look forward to working with you on this and other projects that you have in the future. I will look forward to hearing from you soon as you complete your decision-making process. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or clarifications as you see fit.
