Device to design: A PCB which takes 16-channel digital microphone inputs and forwards the audio stream to a computer via USB port.
Requirements:
1. Microphone input: 16 channel digital signal in the form of eight I2S format data streams. Compatible with InvenSense ICS-43432 MEMS microphones.
2. USB output: 16 channel, 48kHz USB output, directly forwarding the received microphone signals. When plugged in, the computer recognizes the device as a standard 16-channel microphone array; no additional driver should be required for the computer.
3. Data synchronization: The device should be able to achieve
perfect bit-synchronization with the host computer, so that no glitch should occur when listening to the microphone inputs from the computer. This could be achieved by letting the device adjusting its own audio clock frequency according to the USB polling frequency.
This is something like mems microphone array USB dongle.
