My client is having an issue where the administrator invites someone to an event. The customer receives the invite ok, they click accept, add in their details and they should get a confirmation email. It's this confirmation email that's working intermittently. Sometimes the customer receives it, sometimes they don't. This could maybe stem from a server migration where the old server was php 5.3 and the new server is php 5.4 but I can't guarantee it. I can't see it being too difficult to fix as it could just be a case of fixing the php to work on 5.4 but the style of PHP OOP is just a little beyond me. I can guide you to exactly where the main files are so investigation time would be at a minimum.

it's must be because you are sending via php mail function. some email server like Google will send them in spam or junk folder. I can use SMTP to send email. it will send to inbox.
