Edit a Page Builder Plugin to Modify Widget/Section for Multiple Categories

Hello, We are using a WordPress theme that has its own page builder plugin (NOT Visual Composer), that needs some modification. There is a 'widget/module' that creates two columns of posts plus a sidebar. We want to duplicate this widget (IN CODE) to modify it to allow us to select two categories, one for each column. Right now, the widget only allows you to choose one category and that shows the six most recent posts across both columns. I have confirmed with the theme developer that this CANNOT be done and needs the plugin to be custom modified to duplicate the module we want to use, (so the original is unaffected), this new module that you create needs to allow one category of posts to show in column A, and one category of posts to show in Column B. We want one category to populate column A and one category to populate column B That is the job. PHP custom development of the page builder plugin. Need work done ASAP. Dont go asking me for wordpress logins, this CANNOT be done with the current page builder, this is a CODING JOB to customise the plugin so that we CAN do this.
