Dedicated program: XML + XSD -> CSV file

Hello. I am interested in this project. I guess you are using Windows as OS as you are using Excel to convert it now. Do you mind install Strawberry PERL to your PC if you don't have it yet? I would like to do this program in PERL. To run PERL code in Windows, Strawberry PERL has to be installed first. Please PM me for discussion.

this can be done with php script that will validate the xml with the xsd and will return the data in csv file - it will work with files bigger than 30mb, how huge are your xml files? the max size of the files depends of the hosting where you will use the script

hi... can you explain more on the data in the xml... to work out the kinks on how you manage it and what you derive from it.. i have seen the example csv.. doesnt look it tally with the xml example... i have the means to read the xml ..i just need some explanation on the data so i can sort it into a csv.. my solution will be web based.. and if you are interested i could make it with database so you can have records of your conversion

I am extremely interested in creating a program that will meet your needs. My experience in biological data science has led me to develop the skills needed to produce a command line program that will convert your XML into a CSV. My method for accomplishing this will be to use python with three major steps. First, the scripts will read an XSD file into a data framework using python's builtin dictionary data type. Second, another script will read your XML file and using the data framework from the previous step, populate the data dictionary with all data found in the XML. Finally, the dictionary will be unpacked/writted to a csv in the exact format as the example CSV file you have provided. My final script, which you will be able to run from your command prompt, will perform these three steps in sequence outputting your desired CSV.
