I am working a on a travel blog, to both incorporate adventures that I have written on a [login to view URL] blog, and to add new adventures. The feature I want is a world map on which I can put icons for: skiing, kiting, biking, adventure travel, packrafting, trekking (and potentially add others). Ultimately, this will be a forum to share adventure stories, but I would like to build it in a way I can monetize it with affiliate links, etc. Features include: * be able to select by sport and see all the global locations with entries/guides written * be able to zoom in on an area and see all the adventures for that area - would need to go down to the 5-10mi resolution in some cases to be able to differentiate adventures * hover over an icon to see a brief summary and picture * click on the icon to be taken to a new page - on the new page, there would be 2 features: a summary of hotel/restaurant/travel company/gear used links (to generate affiliate traffic, $$), and a link to the BlogSpot or Wordpress story * add the ability to add new travel content * on the main page, also allow users to select a sport and navigate to different versions of summaries - i.e. skiing --> high altitude/Alaska/Andes/Japan and see a list of all the entries that fit in that category Reference [login to view URL] for the adventures that would be included.
