Hi I am a VB6/SQL/Access expert with several years experience in these technologies. How ever I do not have much coding experience in VB.net so I wont be able to help with the conversion to VS2013. But if you are looking just for a conversion of your access db to SQL which will still continue work with the VB6 application, then I can help you. I can help in creating the access database to SQL, migrating the data from access to SQL and to make any changes to your VB6 program, so that it works fine with the new SQL database. Are you having reports from the current system? Are you using crystal reports? Can you please give an idea of the size of the application - like the number of forms, number of reports etc, so that I can make a better esitmate and make a more accurate bid. Thanks Roni

The database you have attached hasn't table relationships and it is not well normalized. Moreover, the transformation of a VB6 project in VB.NET is not a simple matter. I am a Microsoft partner and I deal with development in the past 20 years. I worked with QuickBasic, VB5, VB6 up to VB2013, with Access from version 2.0 and with all version of SQL Server, I have an extensive experience in office automation (look at my portfolio), so I think to be an ideal partner for your current and future work. If you send me the complete database I'll convert in SQL Server (you choose between the version: local DB or Server side), but you have to analyze deeply the VB6 code, because I am afraid that the whole logic reside in the code and should be manually converted to SQL Server. Therefore this proposal is to convert only DB tables and data (no other objects like queries/forms etc conversion is done) I will be providing a .sql file which when run in sql mgmt studio (after connected to right login/DB/schema)will create the tables and data (as in access .mdb file) Kindly let me know expected data size. Hi, I'm experienced .NET (Web and Desktop) software developer with over 10 years experience. I started my career and my first job was at the bank where I worked on the development and optimization of core-banking software that was developed in VB5. I know that VB6 is very similar so I'm familiar with this environment. Regarding this MS Access database and these five tables (Exam, Lens, Patient, rigid_mat, soft_mat) I think we can do very quickly migration to MS SQL Server say SQL Server 2008 R2 for example. At first glance, I think it would be helpful to add some relations between tables. As I am new here, I'm aware that it is very difficult to gain the confidence of the employer. Hi, I have been working with databases (amongst other) for the last 10 years. I am currently working for a reputable software developer in Iceland as a database specialist. I am just looking for some extra work to get some extra cash :) I worked as a support manager for a few years so all communication should be easy for me. I would also be interested in helping you with future projects if you like the outcome of my first one. I have also been on the other end. Once I hired an Indian (no offense to them) but I ended up spending more time explaining what needed to be done than it would have taken me to implement the project myself, so don't necessarily accept the cheapest offer as it can end up costing more...
