I am looking for some Javascript code that can add check boxes to a datagrid, and report back to the server once all is done.
I have a vb.net (1.1) page communicating with sql server and presenting a data grid to the user. I want to add to it in the following way...
1. Add a button called "Build List".
2. Add a hidden variable "dList"
3. If build list is clicked, four things happen. First, the first column of the datagrid (Col Name "Donor" varchar(8) and it is unique), is modified to show a small image ([login to view URL]), followed by the original content of the cell. Second, two new buttons appear below the datagrid (Cancel and Submit). Third, dList content is cleared. FOurth, the BUild List button disappears.
3. Each of the [login to view URL] have an onClick that will do the following:
-- change the image from [login to view URL] to [login to view URL]
-- the original content of the cell "Donor" will be appended to the varible dLIst, using a pipe "|" character as a delimiter.
4. If a [login to view URL] is clicked, the opposite happens, replacing the image with [login to view URL] and removing the content of the cell from dLIst.
5. If cancel is clicked, the dLIst is cleared and page returns to its state prior to the click of Build List
6. If submit is clicked, there is a postback to the server, for which I will code up.
So, basically, everything happens at the client in javascript except the submit, which will happen back at the server.
