We are seeking an experienced WordPress plugin developer who has strong knowledge regarding PHP and the way emails are sent from servers (and how to improve delivery rates on multiple server setups).
We are wanting to develop a WordPress plugin and release it on behalf of our company. We would like someone who is willing to offer a bid, but is also willing to be in touch in the next few months if there are any bugs/tweaks.
We'd like to combine the functionality of these 2 plugins:
"Send E-mail"
Send E-mail is extremely simple, but too simple. There is no control panel for it, and its not configurable. The thing I like about it though is the clean, good looking layout. Plus, it is activated by a simple shortcode which is [contact-form]
"Contact Form Plugin"
This one is also simple and reliable. However the control panel is messy and ugly. It seems to be quite reliable for delivering email though, on multiple server configurations. The problem we ran into with the Send E-mail plugin above is it doesn't work on some servers (due to PHP configuration etc I suppose).
Perhaps a better idea is using the public code available from this script as a base:
Mostly I'm hoping at the end for an easy to install, easy to configure contact form plugin that has a high rate of deliver-ability to Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc. So if you have knowledge of PHP/Apache security settings that block emails from being sent from certain scripts, or from "not-on-the-same-domain" from-email addresses, and other such issues, that would be helpful for this.
Here is a basic list of features I'm hoping the plugin will have:
Submit button text is configurable (i.e. Submit, Send Message, custom, etc)
Required fields marked with "(required)"
Success message is configurable (Your message has been sent.)
Failure message is configurable (Your message could not be sent, please try again.)
From email address is configurable ()
To email address is configurable ()
Email subject is configurable (New message from your contact form)
Require email to be input twice is optional
Send me a copy is optional for users (check box)
User information in delivered email footer is optional (IP address, page submitted from, date)
The simpler the control panel can function, the better. I don't think AJAX is necessary for admin, but for the form itself it may be useful, to display success/error messages and to not require any redirection upon submit.
