I have a suggestion, but not quite perhaps the approach you were considering. I'm guessing the photograph dates from 27 years ago, and I am also guessing you might be in it, or at least have a connection. Option 1: Have you got the original negative please? It will be easier and cheaper if you have, because I can scan the negative, and then work on the image photographically, and print it onto canvas. Option 2: If you don't have the negative, and we can re-stage the image, even doing it in the studio, using multiple exposures of the same person in ice hockey gear, (or perhaps two or three people), I can then work without the confusion of the background, and even if you want it set in a stadium I can then add that in at the end.
