SQL work for rolling averages

Need some data in excel files to be sorted and manipulated in SQL, access, or some other database. Need rolling averages of numerous variables. What I'm testing: CEO pay in 1992 versus stock performance in 93 (1 year lag), 94 (2 year lag), 95 (3 year lag) and so forth (93 pay with lags, 94 pay with lags, etc.). I want to see how pay influences future performance. So, I need rolling averages (1-year, 2-year, 3-year, 4-year, 5-year periods). 1) Stock returns given year end prices, 2) Average stock returns by company, and 3) standard deviation by company.
