This project is to make a modification to the SimpleURLConnections app that is an example app from the Apple iOS Developer site. The attached zip file contains this app with two modifications that I have made. One is to change the value for kDefaultGetURLText in GetController.m to be:
The second is to add a TextField to the Get Controller view. (I didn't create the outlet, etc that you will need to work with this textfield however. I thought I would leave that for you to do just to be sure it is done the way you want.)
In its original state what this example app does is to get the file "[login to view URL]" from the URL and make it be the image in the UIImageView in the GetController view. If you set the value of kDefaultGetURLText back to its original value of "[login to view URL]" and run the app you will see what it does when you tap the Get button.
However, when the app uses my URL text the result is not to get a file but to get a webpage response. If you paste my URL text into your browser you will see the webpage response is "12/25/2011|7:00:00 AM|6:00:00 PM|Holiday||R||x|". When using my URL text the result in the app is "Unsupported Content-Type" because the result of the URL is not an acceptable image file.
So, the modification that I want is to have this app get the response from my URL, put that response into a string variable and then to display that string value in the textfield. Don't worry about trying to make any sense of the response value, just treat it as a string and put it in the textfield.
