Academic Calendar

The idea of this application is to provide a simple to use calendar, specific to deadlines for any UK University students. We are wanting a simple application in the form of a calendar that allows the user to record important deadlines in relation to his/her degree. It will be for the use of UK university students and will therefore need space for the relevant information. The main idea of the calendar is that the student can add a course and specify the title of the course, the type of work, the date it is due, what percentage of the course the assignment is worth, length of the assignment and have the ability to set an alarm notification. The deadline calendar: The calendar need to have a function to create a course with space to add a few relevant pieces of information; the course, the assignment titles; the percentage/weight of the assignment; the word length; type of assessment and the due date. We need the possibility to add a number of courses and from in them subsections to add the essay titles. Each title would need a description box in which the user could add the rest of the relevant information. As the student will provide the appropriate information the use of drop-down menus' will not be needed, only spaces for the student to fill in information itself. It is important that the calendar keeps track on where the course headline is, where the type of work information is, the length and weighting as this is necessary when receiving the notification. The reminder: Once all the information is added the user will be provided with a due date countdown informing them how many days are left until the deadline with the ability to activate regular in app notifications. The student should have the possibility to set an reminder for the different courses and assignments, he/she has created. When a deadline is due, there will be a notification, saying that an assignment is due, followed by the information the student has provided in the created course event. Deadline: The deadline for the project is the 17th November. This application will need to be completed and approved by the 17th of November, with the possibility to request any tweaks or changes that are necessary
