I need an Android app which will take a free 3D model of a monster and render it on screen.
The model is called Test Monster Character at [login to view URL] and it has 10 animations built in.
The Android app should have a select box that lets the user pick which of the 10 animations play. Nothing fancy for the UI - just the select box and the 3D image being animated. Part of this project includes explaining the exact process of converting the original file into files that can be used on Android (such as loading the .blend file into Blender, how to export it exactly, etc).
I did some brief research on this, and it seems like Blender can export .obj files. There's code out there to read .obj files and display them, but I'm not sure if it works with animations or not. On Stackoverflow people were talking about rendering several .obj files for animation, which would be fine. Also there are libraries such as min3d and others which could be used. Hopefully the programmer I hire already has experience in this, but I'm willing to hire someone who knows 3d and can do research.
