Create an algorithm for Pedestrian Tracking System / Pedestrian Dead reckoning

Pedestrian tracking system using IMU Fusion (also known as Pedestrian Dead reckoning PDR) Given some IMU data and magnetic campus data, this project will develop Pedestrian Tracking System (also known as "Pedestrian Dead-reckoning" PDR). The data can be given in any of the following ways: 1) You are given IMU data and ground truth trajectory (see for example [login to view URL] ) The goal of the project is to create an algorithm that will detect the position of the pedestrian using the data given in the link: [login to view URL] In the dataset above, the data for magnetometer, gyroscope and accelerometer are given to detect the pedestrian steps, direction and location. REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROJECT: My preference of algorithm would be a Kalman Filter Whoever takes this project will have to make a detailed report on how the position of the subject is calculated based on the data given in the link above along with a few published journals/papers that talk about the algorithm. I also need an explanation of the algorithm created to understand how it was made. Please refer to the conference paper attached. I'll ask a few questions before confirming the project with you.
