Change width of posts on my blog and create a second column for blog posts

I have attached an image showing what i need done. Basically, I love my theme but I don't like the way the blog posts under "Latest posts" show up. They're not aligned with the width of the featured posts at the top. I also want two columns of blog posts - keep the one under "Latest Posts" and add another column to the right that aligns with the two small featured posts, and remove the "Your interests" widget.

I can change the width of the latest post to be the same as the greenblender post above . I also will remove the your interest widget and create more space for blog posts on the right with same width . I am highly skilled in wordpress . I have done this before . Ready to start right away.
