Excel VBA / Pivot Table programmer

Hi, i am an architect looking to hire a programmer to improve the usability of a giant & unweildy spreadsheet I use for writing building specifications. What I currently have, and how I use it: The spreadsheet is split into 20-30 tabs for each 'Work Section', and within each section, there are many (sometimes hundreds) of 'Clauses', which are grouped rows of info. All, some or none of these clauses might be applicable to a particular project. Seperate to excel I use BIM software for the drawings, which can easily generate me an excel list of all the applicable clauses used on the drawings. Currently, I take the 'applicable clauses list', then edit down a master office specification for each project by trawling through, hiding the tabs/sections I dont need, then hiding the clauses i dont want to appear in the final project spec. The output is generally a pdf or a4 printed document that gets sent out to third parties for costing. The problem: The issue i have is that manually hiding groups by going through the spreadsheet is time-consuming, and fragile - in that you might accidently unhide everything whilst looking for a hidden clause, and need to restart the whole process. Because the whole group is hidden, including its heading, it can be difficult to 'find' a clause that has been hidden by accident - often leading to the error noted above. What I need: Some method whereby I have a list of all clauses(groups), with some kind of checkbox to strike out the non-applicable clauses. That checklist should then automatically hide the relevant clause(group) from the document, leading to a print document that only contains the relevant info. I've back engineered a few VBA codes to do things like create a contents page and such, and know my way around excel a bit - so i've got a basic idea on what can be done - but am in no way a programmer - hence my appeal to a specialist in this feild!
