Back in the 1980s, programs used to be shared in magazines to be typed into the end-users computer.
This project is to enter a long program into an emulator and deliver the save file for the program. The project requires some computer skills, or familiarity with old computers.
To better understand the project, I have attached a very short program "Computing Interest Earnings for a savings account". Please try entering this into the MC-10 emulator at [login to view URL] Entering 'special' characters like '+' will require referring to the keyboard layout which is attached. In this layout, '+' is the key to the right of 'L' and the shift key.
The project is entering a much longer program, "Cattle Baron", ensuring it works and sending me the save file so I can run it. The text of that program is attached. Note that the number of spaces is important, and the line width is fixed at 32 characters which shows the number of spaces. It may be possible to automate some of the project using OCR software.
Hi! I am Vincentius Disa from Indonesia.
I've read carefully the description project and gave a try on mc-10.com. It looks fun and i quite understand how it works. Since i spent most of my time at home, in front of my laptop, this project will surely suits me. Although I may be new to this project, but this project requires accuracy/precision typing and i am sure enough i can get this done on time.
I am a detail oriented person and i tend to do anything carefully. It would be an honour for me to do this project with you.
Best regards
I have written a lot of programs in the past so I know syntax needs to be right. a small mistake in typing a "." could mean a big error in a program or compilation might fail.
I have typed a few lines into mc-10, saved a test file and loaded it back. So o know i will be able to do this.
One question I have is how to enter the special characters like in line 1060 beacuse those characters are not easily identifiable on the keyboard provided.
