Collect Product Information from Vendor Website

PROJECT OVERVIEW Gather product information and collateral from a publicly accessible website for use in an ecommerce project. PROJECT SCOPE 1) Generate a full collection of product information, attributes, images, and datasheets. 2) All information is publicly accessible (no login required, no backend access available) on the website for Digi Internation ([login to view URL]) under the Products category. 3) Final deliverable must be provided in .csv format in accordance with the attached .csv template. 4) Only data collected from the vendor website [login to view URL] will be accepted. PROJECT DETAILS We are a regional distributor for the industrial automation vendor Digi International. We need product information from this vendor so we can list their products on our ecommerce site. At this time, the vendor doesn't provide a sustainable method for delivering richly detailed product data to satisfy our data schema requirements. DELIVERABLES Product Details: -All product information should accurately represent those products sold in the US. -The final .csv deliverable of product information should be immediately importable (no data manipulation required) into the Magento v1.9.2.1 ecommerce platform. See the attached .csv template for sample formatting. Product Images: -Images should be collected in a directory named "img" -Each image should be named with its respective product name or part number. Product Datasheets: -Datasheets should be collected in a directory named "datasheets" -Each datasheets should be in .PDF format and named with it's respective product name or part number. Each product entry requires the following: -Manufacturer -Part number (SKU) -Name -Category breadcrumb -Full/detailed description (listed as "Specification" on vendor website) -Short 1-line description -Image (highest resolution image available) -Image label -Actual Weight (lbs) given on website -Weight rounded up (ex. actual=4.1, rounded =5) -Product page on vendor website (ex. [login to view URL]) Each product entry requires the following as applies to that product (if not applicable, then leave field blank): -Product Overview -Industrial network protocols supported (ie. Modbus, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, DF1, PROFINET, etc) -Number of Copper Ethernet Ports (available options: 1-5, 6-9, 10+) -Available Copper Ethernet Port Speeds (options: 10/100 Mbps, 1Gbps, 10 Gbps) -Number of Fiber Ethernet Ports (options: 1-2, 3-5, 6+) -Available Fiber Ethernet Port Speeds (options: 10/100 Mbps, 1Gbps, 10 Gbps) -Supported Fiber Modes (options: SFP, FX single-mode, FX multi-mode) -Fiber Connector (options: LC, SC, ST) -Serial Standards Supported (options: RS-232, RS-422, RS-485) -Number of Serial Ports: (ie. 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc.) -Switch Management (options: Managed, Unmanaged) -Mount Style (options: DIN-rail, Rackmount, Wallmount) PENALTIES a) If the project is delivered past the deadline, we reserve the right to levy a penalty of 10% of that project's payment. We also reserve the right to cancel the project if the project is not delivered within 10 days. b) If insufficient data is collected, we reserve the right to levy a 15% penalty. In extreme cases, we reserve the right to invalidate the project. RESOURCES a) Vendor will be required to procure and maintain all technical resources (computer, software, internet connection etc) at his/her cost. We will not reimburse any such expense. The payment rates mentioned above will be all-inclusive. b) Vendor will be required to refer to the website for Digi International, [login to view URL] for collecting/verifying the data for all Digi-branded products. Digi has authorized the use of webscraping technologies for this project, and written confirmation of this permission can be provided upon request. c) The attached .csv contains the correctly formatted product entry for one product.
