Please forgive my lack of experience in Raspberry Pi.
I am working on a project where I am looking for a media player to continually play a video file on a loop, without any interruptions and overlays. When an external device provides an input to the media player, the content changes to another video file before reverting back to the loop on its completion.
E.g. Video Loop > [INPUT] > Post Input Message > Video Loop
The content would be stored on removable storage as two video clips.
The device would need to have significant up time, almost 24/7 and automatically reboot to the loop video should their be any interruption in the power supply.
The input to the media player would be a continual voltage which could be set between 3v and 12v. A drop to 0v would count as the input and the duration of 0v pulse can be set. No more than 1 pulse would be sent every 30s.
I.e. 3v > 0v Trigger Thank you Message > 3v
I have full electrical specifications of the pulse and would need video to be output through HDMI at full HD resolution.
As I a new to Raspberry Pi, I would be looking for advice on hardware and setup as well as the software to run the media player.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
