What experience do you have that is relevant to this project?
I recently produced 7 orchestral backing tracks for a Mormon temple choir using EW Hollywood Orchestra samples. Please see my portfolio, 1st and 2nd items - (Concert flyer) 'Lamb of God' & Audio 'Gethsemane – Lamb of God – Orchestration'. The 3rd item is my CV with hardware and software details.
Proposal:
Hello Martin, I am a full time musician, audio engineer and recording studio owner with over 35 years music industry experience. I am also applying for Project 46 so the details below will be the same.
The initial orchestrations would be produced in Sibelius 8.5, I find this better for dynamics and expressions than a DAW with a score editor.
The exported audio from Sibelius - using EW Hollywood Orchestra Samples - would then be mixed in Pro Tools 12 using mainly Waves Mercury and Izotope plugins where required. I would also export the midi data from Sibelius and can either send you that midi file or load it in to Cubase 9 so as to provide you with a Cubase file.
The stereo mix would then be mastered in Wavelab 9 using mainly Izotope plugins.
The work will be carried out in my professional, acoustically treated, recording studio where my main monitors are K&H O300s which ensure a top quality sound.
With regards to the bid, do you have an example of the piece and details of the expected complexity of the orchestration (string quartet, full orchestra etc), and the length of the piece.
When I created the 'Lamb of God' pieces I worked on a set fee per minute of music created. If there are over 20 pieces still to be created this could, if it appeals to you, be an option if ongoing projects become available. I would be happy to create a short test piece should you require one.
If you need any further information, please contact me.
Kind regards, Greg Hobson.
