Informative Speech Idea Paragraph According to Oxford dictionary, culture is " "The customs and beliefs, art, way of life, and social organization of a particular country or group([login to view URL]) ; Speakers Primer defines culture as "The collective programming of the mind distinguishing the members of one group or category of people from another (Speakers Primer, pg. 53)." Often we think about culture as belonging to particular countries or ethnicities. However, cultures, and subcultures exist everywhere. Each one of you belongs to several cultures, here is an example of a few that are considered culture. LBCC Student Gen Z or Millenial generation Church affiliations Sports team or perhaps you are a fan of a particular team (fans are cultures too!) Even your work or family have their own cultures! Make a list of the cultures/subcultures you belong to, think about the rules and norms that exist in these cultures. If you were going to create an informative speech about this culture that you belong to, what would it be? For example, if you are a farmer, what are the things that you would want people to know about this group (culture)? Maybe you were raised Amish or Mormon, what could you inform people from outside this culture about? Maybe you were raised in Canada or France, what about that culture do you want people to know, or what should they know? Write a 300 word paragraph(s).
